I'm incredibly lucky to have met some awesome blog friends all over the country including my sweet friend Bailey who lives in Denver. She had been raving about a Ballet Physique studio (similar to Pure Barre) that she had been taking for a while. Let me just say that she had a sweet little girl earlier this year, and she is looking amazing from the Ballet Physique classes. Anyway, Bailey wanted me to try it out, so she helped put me in touch with the owner to attend a class while I was in Denver.
Let me preface by saying I'm terrible about cross training. I don't go to a gym. I don't go to any classes. I just run. And normally don't do much else. I was a bit intimidated and nervous to try the class (I had been to yoga but never a barre-type class), but the minute I walked in the studio, I felt totally at ease. Everyone there was incredibly nice, the studio was super cute, and I knew even if I looked like a fool in class, I was going to have a great time.
Well, the class was harder than I expected it to be. It was a lot of fun, had great music, the teacher was amazing and encouraging...but my muscles were screaming at me the entire time...and I LOVED it! I pushed myself for the 60-minute class, and I think I kept up fairly well considering it was my first time. I wish Kristen had a studio near me, but maybe I'll check out the local Pure Barre place sometime. And I'll definitely go back to The Ballet Physique when I'm in Denver.
Denver friends, please go check out The Ballet Physique in downtown Littleton. You won't regret it.
And for all of you who can't attend a class, I'm giving away a pair of Ballet Physique DVDs for you to have at home (trust me...they're still awesome workouts). The package comes with 2 DVDs and an exercise ball. Just enter the giveaway below. It closes Friday at midnight.
Also the Ballet Physique is offering a discount on their products for all you readers. Just enter code SOUTHERNWIFE at checkout for 20% off. It's valid unil September 20.
