I tried blogging this from my phone, but it wouldn't post, so let's try again. Hopefully it won't post twice.
I'm still in KY with my mom and grandmother, and I have to hang out at the local grill to get wifi, so bear with me over the next few days. :)
First of all, thank you to everyone for the sweet words about my grandfather. We took an earlier flight back from vacation and arrived Friday afternoon after a hellish day/night of traveling. We flew from Puerto Vallarta to LAX, had a 6-hour layover, flew to Atlanta on the redeye, then flew to Little Rock (where we flew out of) and drove 4.5 hours to Kentucky. Insanity. The service was Saturday, and everything was beautiful. There were SO many people. It just goes to show how many people adored and loved him. I wouldn't have been anywhere else in the world this past weekend, but I hated to miss my 10-year high school reunion and my sister's baby shower. Hopefully I'll get to see some pictures from both events. My grandmother is having a hard time, so please keep her in your prayers.
On a brighter note, I thought I would share a bit of our trip from Mexico! We arrived last Saturday and met up with my in-law's as well as my sister-in-law, her husband and our adorable nephew. We checked in the Villa del Palmar Flamingos where my in-law's have a timeshare. We had an oceanfront penthouse with an incredible view. We were all there celebrating my in-law's 40th anniversary, and I think they were thrilled with the accommodations.
This time around, we all chose to do the all-inclusive option that included food and drinks on the property. It was really convenient for a large group of people. Luckily I ran on the treadmill every day while we were there to combat all the calories :). We lounged, went to the spa, relaxed, napped and just hung out having fun all week. It was a great vacation. I hated to cut it short to get back to the states, but I know everyone understood, given the circumstances. Here are a few snapshots. Enjoy!
My sister-in-law gave me the fun necklace. I love it!
I love my nephew. So precious.
Our attempt at cheesy, romantic sunset pictures.
Shortly after I found out about my grandfather. I was a mess.
I hope everyone had a great week/weekend. I'll update as I can until I get back home.
