Friday Brain/Photo Dump

What a week it has been!

So, last weekend, my husband backed into my BFF's car and did a lot of damage. Luckily it didn't cost us much out of pocket, but BFF took my car back to STL, leaving her car here to be fixed, so I've been carless for the week. Her car is supposed to be ready today so I can take it back to STL and see her this weekend. Only it might not be done today...it might be tomorrow. And her car is a stick shift, which I can't drive...and my husband is out of town, so luckily (again) my friend Clark is driving her car (and me) to STL whenever it is ready. I owe him a drink. Or twenty.

Got all that? Yeah, gives me a headache, too.

Anyway, I've been running on the treadmill a lot. The new medicine I'm on make me really sluggish and at times nauseous, so I don't want to be alone, miles from my house and get sick or anything. So, this guy has been keeping me company near my treadmill.

On chilly days, I've been working on the couch instead of my office so I can enjoy the fire. Not a bad view.

Speaking of work...since I work in PR/social media, this whole Applebee's frenzy has been so fascinating to me. Is anyone else following it? Sounds like they need a Social Media 101 class.

Y'all may remember that I had to get my tennis bracelet replaced.
Well, I was stupid bought one from Macy's because I have a Macy's card, it was exactly what I was looking for and I got a great deal after Christmas. Turns out, we went to our jeweler to have it appraised and the TWO carat bracelet that we purchased only appraised for ONE carat. You can bet your bottom dollar that the husband and I marched in there with our receipt and appraisal and returned that sucker. The ladies working were very understanding and apologetic and gave us a return without any problem. I'm going to hope that it was an honest mistake, but who knows what happened. Lesson learned. Now we are on the hunt again for a bracelet that I like. Fingers crossed.

I'm also on the hunt for a rug for our sitting area. I really like this one, but it was only 5'x7', and I need something more like 8'x10'. Any ideas for places to look that won't break the bank?

Ps I'm back on instagram: @southernwife. I deleted it when Facebook took over and photos weren't visible in Twitter anymore...but I missed it, so I'm back. #SocialMediaJunkie

I recently bought a rug (ok after Thanksgiving, so not recently I guess) from RugsUSA.com and have been really happy with it. They have crazy sales sometimes and most of the rugs seem like good quality wool rugs. Lots of fun patterns too.

That's crazy about your bracelet and Applebees. I hope you're feeling better soon, as your body adjusts to the medicine.

I haven't heard of the Applebee's deal until now. Sometimes I don't think corporations and social media go together because often they don't take the time to understand it. I don't think I could ever give up Instagram.

Check out homegoods for cheaper rugs! They always have lots to choose from and they're pretty reasonable!

That's crazy about the bracelet! I've always been very impressed with Macy's, so I'm also going to hope it was a mistake!

I know this sounds crazy but check Costco for rugs. They're usually a great deal & not too bad.
