Changin' It Up

Workout:
Yesterday:
Levels 1 and 2 of 30 Day Shred with 8-lb hand weights

I *try* to do something other than running once/week. It doesn't always work because running is my first love, and most days I'd just rather lace up my shoes and go. I have a bike (but need a new helmet) as well as some hand weights and DVDs at home. I don't belong to a gym and really don't want to pay to join one. But between my at-home workout routines, the neighborhood pool, my bike and treadmill, I feel like I get a good mix, especially in the summer.

Anyway, my treadmill is non-operational at the moment (need to call someone tomorrow), and I didn't feel like running outside yesterday, so I busted out my Jillian Michaels DVD. I hadn't done it in a while and wasn't sure what to expect.

Level one definitely got my heart rate up and drenched in sweat, but I wanted a little more burn, so I went ahead and did level 2. Whewweee I was a hot mess by the time I finished. And it got me thinking...maybe I'll try to actually to it for 30 days and see what happens!?

My plan today is to get in 4 miles with the husband (he asked if he could run with me! Can someone check to see if the world is supposed to end today?), and then do level 2 of 30 Day Shred before work.

What at-home workouts do you do?

I did the 30-day shred for 30 days once and saw great results. I also have done it periodically since then, but I have gotten pretty bored of it after just doing it so many times. Very effective, though! And quick!

I have the 30 day shred DVD - I actually posted about it last week - but I have yet to try it. This could be the motivation I need!

Love the 30 Day Shred. Right now, I do my Pure Barre DVDs at home. They're a workout!

I had amazing results with 30 Day Shred. I stopped (stupidly) while on vacation last summer and haven't picked it back up. I lost 2 inches off my stomach within 3 weeks by following the recommended schedule on the DVD. I was only doing it to tone up and get stronger, so you can imagine my surprise when I lost inches! And I wasn't even dieting, just making healthy choices! HIGHLY recommend it! (which reminds me, I should probably pick it back up again! lol)

i actually broke out my Shred DVD over the weekend and since I've been doing Zumba...it didn't seem near as challenging as it has in the past!

I just busted out the 30 day shred for the first time. I only did level one though. You were brave! I'm excited to see the results after 30 days.

I haven't tried the 30 Day Shred, but I might have to look into it. Keep me posted on what you think. We are very similarly built and run about the same pace as well. I've been doing the Tracy Anderson workouts...one is called a mat workout, another is a FUN dance one, another is actually a post-partum video that came with the other 2. They are all great for small-framed gals like us. Also, they are much harder than it seems...they really work your minor muscles, but I can see results in my arms and abs already. My only complaint is that they are a little long. How long are the 30 day shred ones?

I've actually been thinking about trying a Jillian Michaels video. Right now, I don't have a work out that I do (I know, I'm awful) but I'm really trying to get in shape!
