Despite my husband being gone, I managed to have a wonderful weekend and spoiled myself a little bit. Friday morning, I did some work and some blogging from my office. I love how "me" my office feels.
Then, to kill time before a run with a friend, I stopped in TJ Maxx where I scooped up a few things including this blazer and top that I wore the following day to my brother's wedding shower. Sorry for the headless self portrait.
Premise blazer
Calvin Klein top
Earl Jeggings
Antonio Melani boots
LV Speedy
New Gramercy Kate Spade watch (birthday gift from the husband)
Friday afternoon, my mom and I went to see Safe Haven. I normally don't go to see movies, but I had read and loved the book, and I knew it wouldn't be my husband's top movie choice. It definitely didn't disappoint, and I thought Julianne Hough did a great job.
Over the weekend, I also purchased an at-home shellac manicure kit!
I tried it out Saturday for the shower, and it worked like a charm! It was $55 at Walgreen's and came with the LED lamp and everything. It says the polish should be enough for 8 manicures, and then additional polishes were about $12.
Saturday night, I had a girlfriend over for wine and girl talk. It was just what I needed. And Sunday, I went to dinner and my college voice professor's recital with a girlfriend.
TJ Maxx tunic
Black Jeggings
Michael Kors boots
Michael Kors bag
My pink Kate Spade phone case? Another birthday surprise from the husband. It has a holder for your ID or credit card. I love it.
I feel like I wear this outfit every day. I have about 4 or 5 beige tunics and 4 pairs of dark rinse jeggings, and it's becoming my "to-go" outfit. Oh, well.

As much as I love my husband, sometimes weekends to myself are just what I need to recharge for him again!
My husband was gone last weekend and during the week up until valentines day and it was so nice to recharge. Also I love basic tunics, jeans and boots. I am a classic girl.
I was just thinking the same thing about my outfits as of late. I want to transition to spring, but then I think wait.... what will I wear on my feet? Should I start buying lots of color?! I'm over the winter drab. Looks like a fun weekend you had lady!
Love that blazer and top! I need to hit up TJ Maxx
I absolutely love that jacket and top from TJ Maxx! I used to never find anything there but I've had such great luck over the past year or so.
That's such a cute yet comfy go-to outfit!
(P.S. somehow your blog got removed from my reader!! So sad. I added it back so I plan on reading some older posts of yours to catch up!)
Very impressed by the DIY Shellac manicure! If I had steady hands, I would definitely give it a try!
