After two weeks of holidays, it sure doesn't feel like Friday, but I'm happy it's here! Here's a hodge podge of some things going on this week:
I finally broke down and bought new makeup this week (thanks, Jennie, for the gift card for Christmas!). I haven't bought new makeup since before our wedding. Yikes. I'm a big Bobbi Brown fan, so I went with several different things including my favorite gel eyeliner and face wash.
That, my friends, is what's called a great mail day!
In other news, we applied for tickets to the Inaugural Ball (yes, the one Barack and Michelle will be attending). Fingers crossed we get tickets. I would love to hang out with Michelle for the night :) I tried on my old pageant dress to wear to the ball in the off chance that we get tickets, and to my amazement, it still fits!
Moving on...I guess I'm on a Michael Kors kick here lately. I think all his pieces are just beautiful and timeless. I had been looking for flat brown boots and a brown crossbody bag for a while (I love the crossbody bags for traveling). And I wanted the boots and bag to match, which seemed next to impossible. So, when I finally found what I liked, my mom got me both for Christmas!
Anyone else like wearing black and brown together?

And I found this Michael Kors sweater in Denver last year and have worn it A LOT this winter. It's super warm and comfy.

I'm also on a mission to find a new watch. I had a Skagen one that I liked, but one of the rhinestones came loose inside the face, and it's going to cost as much to fix it as the watch is worth. The problem is...I can't find a replacement that I like! I want something on the smaller side, no rhinestones, two-toned, and it has to be stainless steel since my skin is so sensitive to metals. Any ideas!? I kind of like this one, but I want to try it on in a store and not order it online.
Also on an unrelated note, my suitcase of 13 years finally gave out, and I new new luggage. I want a hard-sided one. Any recommendations? And I'm totally going to get another obnoxious pattern like my suitcase above so it's easy to find in baggage claim! No one ever has purple plaid!
Happy Friday!

I found PURPLE hard sided luggage at TJ MAX and the wheels sping 360 we took it to mexico and LOVED it!
I just have to say, I used to NEVER where black and brown together, but lately (in the past year) I find myself wearing more and more black and brown together and don't think anything of it. And I LOVE the boots and the crossbody:) super cute!!
I'm totally wearing black and brown today. Hah!
Phillip Stein watch...best thing ever and not a lot of people have them. They are pricey, but so worth it. Check out your nearest TJ Maxx for luggage!
I bought the Seaport Grand for my sister and received the Seaport for Christmas.
The Grand was too big for me (I like a smaller watch) but my sister loves it! And the Seaport was perfect for me. I had a hard time not being able to try them on either, but we both got exactly what we wanted!
I have a suitcase from Pottery Barn Teen [I'm far older than their target demographic] and I love it. It's just the right size so that I don't have to check the suitcase and it's a very recognizable pattern, which always makes it easy to spot.
Your dress is gorgeous, hope you get to wear it to the ball!!
Also, check Macys for luggage, we got ours there at an amazing price!

Gorgeous dress! You already remind me so much of Natalie Portman and that photo of you in the dress makes me imagine you at a Hollywood gala event!
I am on a mission to make women realize how important it is to replace their eye make up. My own issues weren't eye make up related, but I did spend countless hours sitting in the waiting room of one of the nation's best corneal specialists and met many women dealing with fungal infections linked to eye make up. Fungal infections can be blinding AND even if they are not, imagine your eye looking like raw hamburger for a period of time until it clears up! It is not an industry tale that make up should be replaced every 3 months. Even those of us who go a bit above the budget on mascara/eyeliner needs to think of it as an investment in our health.
I've had that MK cape pinned on a wishlist forever, so jealous - looks great on you!
Have a blast!!! Erica

Delsy hard shell luggage is great- especially for flying! It has spinners and the shell holds up to airline abuse! For carry-on we LoVe our Ricardo. Both are at Macy's and go on sale all the time :)
Love the boots! And I've totally been rocking the brown and black look all winter. I should really change it up - ha!
I love - LOVE - the boots.
I am wearing lots of black and brown together. As for the hard shells suitcases, I got one a couple years ago and I am not a big fan. The biggest thing I don't like is that it doesn't have all the pockets like the cloth ones. Also, watch the weight on them. Many are heavier than cloth bags which leaves less room for all your goodies!
