The 7.43-mile 10K

I ran with a friend in her first 10K on New Year's Eve morning. Except organizers neglected to have people directing runners where to go, so the race ended up being 7.43 miles instead of 6.2 miles. Not cool.

Luckily Ashlea trained hard and blew through 7.43 like a champ. She didn't stop once and finished strong. Our official time was 1:15:52.

It was so fun to run with her in her first 10K, not to mention her first race. Also running her first 10K was my brother's girlfriend. And we met up with a college friend of mine who ran with us as well.
Great morning for a (long) 10K!
Note to race organizers next year: make sure you have people in place to direct runners on the route. Or just call it the NYE 7.5-mile race :)

I think I might've cried if I had my mind set on a certain distance and then had to keep going. Yikes!

Love your running outfit. Are you bottoms separate pieces?
