I'll get to the rest of my weekend in a bit, but the most exciting thing I want to share is that I won 1st place in my age group for a 4-mile race today! 4 miles in 38:30. It wasn't a huge race (probably about 100 people), but I still can't believe I won in the 25-29 age group. It really gave me one last boost of confidence for the half marathon next weekend.
Saturday, I hit the park for my last long run before the race next weekend. Normally, I stop to get water/eat a Gu gel/use the restroom/whatever I have to do every 3.1 miles (there is a 5K trail), but before I knew it, I ran 6.2 miles without pausing for a split second on Saturday. I felt like it was my best run yet. After I finished most of my run, an old friend from high school who I haven't seen in years joined me for a run/walk. It was great to catch up.
